Scouting Report: Edward Salcedo, SS. Atlanta Braves

For the past couple of years, Edward Salcedo was rumored to be an elaborate internet hoax. With only a single video of Salcedo taking batting practice on YouTube and a scant few photographs, his not signing as a 16-year old led to even more questions. Earlier this year, Salcedo finally emerged from the shadows signing with the Atlanta Braves for a 1.6 million dollar bonus.

Game Report: Arodys Vizcaino, P, Atlanta Braves

As a key piece in the deal which brought Javier Vazquez back to New York, Arodys Vizcaino arrived in Rome with high expectations and plenty of fanfare. Paired with Julio Teheran, the Rome rotation could boast two of the highest ceiling arms in all of minor league baseball.

Prospect Video: Arodys Vizcaino vs. Wilmer Flores

Since seeing Arodys Vizcaino struggle against the Sand Gnats, he has reeled off twenty-three consecutive scoreless innings en route to one of the better stat lines in the “Sally”. In the near future, I’ll be posting quite a bit of video on both including Wilmer Flores versus other quality pitching prospects including Robbie Ross of [...]

Prospect Video: Julio Teheran vs. Wilmer Flores

I figured the best way to start my video coverage of the 2010 season is with the biggest matchup.  On May 12th, I was able to catch three at bats of Wilmer Flores versus Julio Teheran in his final South Atlantic League start.  It was the South Atlantic League at its best as both will [...]

Game Report: Brett DeVall, SP, Atlanta Braves

Brett DeVall (6 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 5 K, 1 BB) – As a former supplemental 1st round pick in the 2008 draft, Brett DeVall’s 2009 season ended prematurely due to an elbow injury which required relatively minor surgery. I was able to catch his third to last start in June and his injury [...]

Game Report: Julio Teheran, SP, Atlanta Braves

Julio Teheran (5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) Julio Teheran has built quite a prospect resume for himself by the age of eighteen as a highly touted player featured in every major prospect publication. At present, Teheran takes the statement “raw and undeveloped” to the extreme. Should he shake the injury [...]

Scouting Report: Adam Milligan, OF, Atlanta Braves

As I sit in my hotel room about a block from Centennial park, I can’t help but think about the Braves fans who have been gracious enough to post questions about prospects such as J.J. Hoover, Julio Teheran, and Adam Milligan, and how I have yet to complete prospect reports on a handful of talented [...]

Game Report: Mike Minor, SP, Atlanta Braves

Mike Minor (4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 K) – The seventh overall selection in the 2009 draft, the Braves organization took quite a bit of heat for what was considered to be a low risk, medium ceiling pick. With recent first round picks including high risks/high reward players in Cody Johnson [...]

Game Report: Dimaster Delgado, SP, Atlanta Braves

Dimaster Delgado (4 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K) – Will the real Dimaster Delgado please stand up? Are you the pitcher with a pre All-Star ERA of 1.33 or the post All-Star 6.08? The answer lies somewhere in the middle. The Panamanian lefty was little more than average on the evening [...]

Game Report: Jason Heyward, OF, Atlanta Braves

He posted a [...]
