“Sally” Stock Watch

With the first homestand in the books, I spent some time thinking about the best way to provide readers with a quick recap of the entire series in terms of which prospects impressed and depressed. It seems to be a down season in the South Atlantic League for premium talent, but the West Virginia Power, Augusta GreenJackets, and Savannah Sand Gnats all have sleepers worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses.

Game Report: Ehire Adrianza, SS, San Francisco Giants

Ehire Adrianza (0-3, 2 BB) – Prior to the 2009 season, Ehire Adrianza received significant prospect buzz as a Latin American shortstop prospect primed for a break out campaign. Due to a slow start, he became more of an afterthought than premium talent which tempered my expectations prior to watching him play. Why not use [...]

Final Homestand – Can we Fast Forward to the Weekend?

The Sand Gnats are back in town for their final homestand of the year as we move closer to the end of the season. I’ve had a great time covering the Sally this season and am amazed at how many prospects I was able to see pass through the league in one year. I can [...]

Game Report: Francisco Peguero, OF, San Francisco Giants

Francisco Peguero (0-5, 1 K) – At 20, Francisco Peguero posted a .285/.330/.393 line across two levels while swiping 25 bags in 29 attempts during the 2008 season.
